Workshop on Start-Up Development successfully accomplished

On May 13th, 2019 the Neisse Network Mechatronics provided a workshop on start-up development at the University Library in Zittau.

More than 20 international participants attended this one-day event. Besides Dalibor Pulkert from the start-up factory Outboxers in Prague and Antonín Ferdan from Lipo.ink in Liberec, David Sauer from the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz also provided many interesting facts on the topic of start-up development. The focus was put on the design and implementation of business models, on problem solving and on the development of convincing new customer-oriented ideas (Design Thinking Methods).

The participants learned many interesting facts, e.g. on how and where emerging start-upers can get financial support and other relevant assistance and how to find and acquire business partners.

Business games such as "the flying egg" or the practical implementation of the learned skills using the example of the "ideal wallet" gave the participants a feeling for essential business elements and techniques and created a team-building and result-oriented atmosphere during the workshop. In random groups the participants were required to practically solve problems under time stress and economic constraints. Not only the solution but also the approach taken was of decisive importance.

During this workshop, special attention was also paid to the development of soft skills, the establishment of new contacts and the intercultural exchange between the participants.

The participants rated the workshop very positively and many asked for further events like this.

The workshop was part of the cross-border ERDF-funded project “Development of a cross-border academic network to support the formation of start-ups” (“Entwicklung eines grenzübergreifenden studienintegrierten Netzwerks zur Förderung der Unternehmensbildung“ / “Rozvoj přeshraniční akademické sítě pro podporu vzniku podniků“). This project is being conducted by the Technical University of Liberec and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences within the framework of the cooperation programme for the support of cross-border collaboration between the Free State of Saxony and the Czech Republic 2014-2020.

Workshop on start-up development held successfully

On May 13, 2019, the Neisse Network Mechatronics hosted a workshop on "Start-up Development" at the university library in Zittau.

More than 20 international participants took part in this all-day event. In addition to Dalibor Pulkert from the start-up forge Outboxers in Prague and Antonín Ferdan from Lipo.ink in Liberec, David Sauer from the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences also provided exciting facts on the topic of start-up development. The main focus was on the design and implementation of business models (business modeling) as well as problem solving and the development of convincing new customer-oriented ideas (design thinking methods).

In addition, the participants learned a lot about how and where emerging start-ups can receive financial and content-related support and how to find and attract business partners.

Business games such as "The flying egg" and the practical implementation of what they had learned using the example of the "ideal wallet" gave the participants a feel for key business elements and techniques and lent the workshop a team-building and results-oriented character. The participants had to solve problems practically and under time pressure and economic constraints in random groups. Here, not only the solution but also the path taken for implementation was of decisive importance.

The workshop also focused on developing soft skills, making new contacts and intercultural exchange between the participants.

The workshop was predominantly rated as very positive by the participants and many wished for further events of this kind.

The workshop was part of the cross-border and ERDF-funded project "Development of a cross-border study-integrated network to promote business education" / "Rozvoj přeshraniční akademické sítě pro podporu vzniku podniků", which is being carried out by the Technical University in Liberec and the Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences as part of the cooperation program to promote cross-border cooperation between the Free State of Saxony and the Czech Republic 2014-2020.
